Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Posts Cryptic Messages on Social Media

Little has been said by Micah Parsons in his pursuit of a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, but that doesn’t stop the All-Pro defensive end from posting cryptic messages to social media.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he has offered Parsons a contract that would make him the “highest-paid guaranteed player other than a quarterback in the NFL,” but Parsons says he wants out, requesting a trade via social media on Aug. 1.

Parsons scrubbed his social media of any mention of the Cowboys on Aug. 21 and he has posted messages to X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok in recent hours.

Micah Parsons Posts Bible Verse to X

Parsons initially changed his profile photo on X to a picture of him after the Cotton Bowl when he played for Penn State, but that has since been updated, in addition to a post, of a bible verse.

GettyFormer NFL head coach Mike Smith believes the Cowboys would be making a major mistake by trading Micah Parsons.

Micah 7:8, which says, “Even if I fall, I will rise; the Lord is my light,” was posted to X by Parsons on Aug. 21. The bible verse expresses a message of hope and resilience in the face of hardship and enemy opposition.

Have things deteriorated so far that Parsons now views Jones and the Cowboys as the enemy? Can the relationship be mended in time for the regular season opener on Sept. 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles?

Micah Parsons Posts 2002 Allen Iverson Clip to TikTok

If Parsons latest TikTok post is any indication, then Parsons still wants out.

The three-time All-Pro pass-rusher posted images of himself while playing for the Cowboys but the audio on the post is a voice over of NBA legend Allen Iverson as he discussed trade possibilities in an iconic 2002 news conference, when he lambasted about “practice.”

“I am going to win wherever I go,” Iverson said in the clip. “I do not care about where I go, I am going to win. You talk about making my teammates better…I am going to win no matter where I go.

“It is like they named me the MVP, that’s what I am. I have been in this league for six years now and I’ve felt that I have been the MVP for six years.”

In the background of Iverson’s sermon on Parsons’ post is the song “Let It All Work Out” by rap legend Lil Wayne, a noted Green Bay Packers superfan. The Packers have been one of the top rumored franchises to land Parsons.

Micah Parsons Seeks Top Dollar in the Market

Parsons, 26, is surely due to be paid the highest in the league, especially after T.J. Watt reset the market in July when he signed a three-year, $123 million ($108 million guaranteed) extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Trey Hendrickson and Aidan Hutchinson are also seeking new deals, meaning the price may rise again.

“Yes I wanted to be here,” Parsons wrote in an X post when he requested the trade. “I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this Americas team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA.

“Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here.”
