Disturbing Allegations Emerge Against Former Bucks Guard

Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley is facing disturbing allegations after TMZ Sports reported that an affidavit accused him of choking and punching his younger sister during a confrontation earlier this month. Beverley has denied the claims and vowed to fight the felony charge in court.

Beverley, 37, was arrested in Fort Bend County, Texas, and charged with third-degree felony assault involving a family or household member by impeding breath — an offense that carries significant penalties under Texas law.

The allegations come less than two years after Beverley briefly played with the Bucks during the 2023–24 season, where he became a sparkplug off the bench and later drew national attention during the team’s playoff exit.

Affidavit Alleges Violent Encounter Inside Family Home

According to the affidavit obtained by TMZ Sports, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Nov. 14, when Beverley’s sister left the home without permission to meet her boyfriend at a nearby park.

When she returned, her mother woke up, instructed her to call the boyfriend back to the house, and then reportedly summoned Beverley.

The affidavit states that, upon arriving, Beverley confronted his sister before grabbing her by the neck with both hands and lifting her off the ground, causing her feet to leave the floor. Beverley’s sister told officials she felt pain, struggled to breathe, and feared she was “losing oxygen.”

She then claimed Beverley dragged her from the bedroom by the neck, slammed her into the walls in an open hallway area, placed her on a sofa, and punched her once in the left eye. She also alleged that Beverley threatened her, saying he would be the “family relative to kill her.”

Officers who responded reported visible markings on her neck and petechiae — broken blood vessels — in the whites of her eyes, consistent with strangulation.

Beverley was arrested at the scene and later booked into Fort Bend County Jail.

Beverley Pushes Back, Urges the Public Not To Jump to Conclusions

After posting $40,000 bail, Beverley issued a public response on X, telling fans:

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv❤️🙏🏾.”

His attorney later released a statement insisting the situation had been misrepresented:

“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record and cares deeply about his little sister — a minor. When he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he reacted as any protective brother would. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described.”

Beverley is expected to appear in court in the coming weeks.

A Familiar Name for Bucks Fans — And a Recent Controversy Magnet

Beverley joined the Bucks in early 2024 and played a key role in their postseason rotation before a heated altercation in Game 6 vs. Indiana went viral.

In the final minutes of the blowout loss, Beverley threw a basketball into the stands, striking a fan in the head. He then asked another fan for the ball and threw it forcefully back into the crowd. The NBA handed him a four-game NBA suspension, which he has not yet served, and the fans involved later filed a lawsuit accusing him of causing physical and emotional harm.

Earlier this month, Beverley also sparked backlash over crude comments he made about Dallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson and Thompson’s girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, during an online podcast segment.

Beverley was a three-time NBA All-Defensive guard who also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers.
