During the 2024 offseason, Yamamoto was spotted by TikToker Jack Banana shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA alongside Japanese influencer, model and Reality TV star Niki Nawa.
Neither Nawa or Yamamoto publicly confirmed the relationship.
Rumors of their potential romance took a hit during the 2025 playoffs when Sports Illustrated reported that Nawa was on a girls trip in Hong Kong while Yamamoto was pitching in the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Insane Sabrina Carpenter Rumor
If you Google “Yoshinobu Yamamoto girlfriend” you may be greeted by a wild rumor: that Yamamoto is dating popstar Sabrina Carpenter.
The rumor was started on an post on X from an account called “Dropped3rdStrike” which has only 37 followers.
“RUMOR: Popstar Sabrina Carpenter and Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto have been ‘quietly going out,’ per multiple sources,” the post reads. It gained 6.4 million views and plenty of other interactions.
It was satire. “Dropped3rdStrike” is not a media company with access to that kind of information. It is a fan account that nobody follows, that had one hit tweet. It was clearly a joke, clickbait, or both.
While a power couple romance between Carpenter and Yamamoto is a fun idea that would definitely break the internet if it happened, there’s no legs to this claim.
Other Ex-Partners?
Yamamoto has never been in a confirmed public relationship. He seems to be mostly focused on playing baseball for the time being.
But if Dodger fans learned anything from Yamamoto’s superstar teammate Shohei Ohtani, it’s that news of a romance, wedding, or even newborn child can come out of nowhere.
