Rylee Arnold is a fan favorite amongst the “Dancing with the Stars” cast, but her future on the show has been up in the air for quite a while now. She is easily one of the most recognizable young talents in the ballroom dance world, as well as a vibrant social media presence, so fans are waiting with anxious anticipation to learn if she will be returning as a ‘DWTS’ pro for the 2026 season.

Though she hasn’t confirmed nor denied her return to the ABC series, she has taken to her Instagram account to make a significant announcement about her life at present – an update which hints at whether or not she’ll continue on the ‘DWTS’ ballroom floor.

Rylee Arnold’s Boyfriend Made a Major Move Earlier This Year That Impacts the ‘DWTS’ Pro

For the past several years, Rylee Arnold’s boyfriend, FBS tight end Walker Lyons, as played for the USC Trojans football program. However, he made a shock announcement at the beginning of the year with the news of his transfer to BYU in Provo, Utah – which just happens to be Rylee’s hometown!

Though Rylee’s family, including her sister and fellow ‘DWTS’ alumna Lindsay Arnold Cusick, continue to reside in the Provo area, her relationship with Walker Lyons has largely unfolded in the Los Angeles area. Now that Lyons has transferred to BYU, fans have speculated if Rylee will follow in her sister’s footsteps by leaving “Dancing with the Stars” to return to Utah to settle down with marriage and eventually a family. Others have speculated if Walker’s transfer from USC to BYU could signal the end of the the romantic relationship between the pair, but social media posts by Rylee over the past several months indicate that the couple is going stronger than ever.

Ultimately, this means that Rylee Arnold and Walker Lyons will commit to maintaining a long distance relationship – or it could spell the end of Rylee’s ‘DWTS’ career if she instead decides to move closer to Walker and her family.  Though an official announcement hasn’t been released about which pro dancers will be returning to the ABC show for the 2026 season this fall, Rylee’s recent social media photo reel reveals the stronghold BYU, Walker, and Utah have in her life at present.

The ‘DWTS’ Pro Announces Her Love, Pride, and Passion For BYU and Provo, Utah

On Easter Sunday, Rylee Arnold uploaded several snapshots to her Instagram account showcasing her recent activities at home in Provo, Utah with her family – and, perhaps more importantly, with boyfriend Walker Lyons. Notably, the very first picture on Rylee’s post shows her entire family along with Walker standing on the BYU football field in a tribute to her long-term boyfriend’s role on the Cougars football team. Majority of the photos in the reel are taken on the BYU field as Rylee shows how well integrated and included Walker is in her family. Dressed up in BYU blue attire, she is seen posing with her young nephew in the stands of the stadium, sitting with her dog on BYU blue picnic blanket set out on the grass, and simply enjoying her time spent with Walker on the Provo campus.

The third photo of the reel is an intimate snapshot of Walker and Rylee in their Easter Sunday church attire as they both beam magnificently at the camera. With her head resting on Walker’s shoulder, it’s clear that Rylee is very much in love with her beau – ultimately, this leaves fans worried about if her next steps will be in California on “Dancing with the Stars” or in Utah with Lyons.

Rylee Arnold and Walker Lyons have been dating since 2024, but now their dynamic has drastically shifted as they’ve had to adjust to a long distance dynamic – although it doesn’t seem like Rylee has any arguments with increased trips home to be with her loved ones!
