The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a much-needed win in Week 15, as they were able to get the best of the struggling Las Vegas Raiders at Lincoln Financial Field. The win ended the Eagles’ three-game skid, putting them back in the right direction in terms of being in position to win the NFC East division title and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs.
Although the Eagles were able to get their ninth win of the season, star quarterback Jalen Hurts looked like he might’ve gotten hurt before being pulled from the game, with Philadelphia crushing Las Vegas, paving the way to a 31-point blowout.
Before getting sidelined with the game in hand, Hurts was able to quiet his critics, throwing for three touchdowns. However, there’s concern about his status heading into Week 16’s matchup against the division rival Washington Commanders.
Nick Sirianni Reacts to Questions About Eagles QB Jalen Hurts’ Health

During an appearance on the WIP Morning Show on Tuesday, Sirianni was asked about Hurts’ status heading into the matchup with the Commanders.
“You guys are speculating there a little bit,” Sirianni said of Hurts potentially being injured. “He came in and threw a dime on the very next play for a touchdown, then he came out because of the lead that we had. We look through everything, and we’re walking through today because it’s a short week, and we’re looking forward to a really good practice.”
Clearly, there’s no concern from the Eagles’ head coach about his quarterback’s status for Week 16, which is obviously great news for Philadelphia.
Sirianni also came out this week and gave Hurts some much-needed support while the reigning Super Bowl MVP continues to deal with criticism every week.
“I think that playing quarterback in the NFL, you’re going to get a lot of attention,” Sirianni said of Hurts, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Positive, negative, all attention. When that happens, we talk about this a lot as a team, any little thing [that] distracts you, what can distract you, you need to block out. I think that why Jalen can handle it so well is because he’s so locked in and focused and not distracted by things to be able to lock in onto what he needs to do to get himself ready to play.”
Hurts seems to have the right mindset moving forward.
“It’s who I am,” Hurts said. “It’s my focus. This isn’t my first rodeo. Very unprecedented journey to be here. But unprecedented is unprecedented.”
With Hurts back and on track and having the confidence of his head coach, the Eagles are in a prime position to clinch the NFC East division title this week.
Eagles Can Win NFC East Division Crown in Week 16

The Eagles will be crowned NFC East division champions with a win on Saturday on the road against the Commanders at Northwest Stadium. Philadelphia can also win the division title if the Dallas Cowboys lose to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
With the Commanders limping to the finish line and the Cowboys also struggling over the course of the 2025 campaign, it would be safe to assume the Eagles will be playoff-bound after Week 16, as the odds are definitely in their favor.
