Eagles Playoff Picture: NFC Standings, Seeds & Matchups Ahead of Week 18

The Philadelphia Eagles have already clinched a playoff berth and won the NFC East title. Yet, Philly is still looking to climb in the NFL playoff standings.

Following the team’s win over the Buffalo Bills, the Eagles hold the No. 3 seed in the NFC. Philadelphia needs some help to be able to climb up to the No. 2 seed where the Chicago Bears sit.

As of now, the Eagles’ most likely playoff opponent would be an NFC West squad. The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams remain among the likely candidates to travel to Philly in the Wild Card round.

Here’s a look at the Eagles playoff picture and NFC standings ahead of Week 18.

Nick Sirianni on Eagles: ‘We’re Trying to Play Our Best Football by the End of the Season’

Through all the ups and downs this season, the Eagles still have an opportunity to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Unless the Eagles get some help in Week 18, Philadelphia is likely going to face a more challenging postseason path which involves winning on the road.

Despite already securing a playoff berth, the Eagles have no plans to slow down ahead of the postseason. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni plans to continue playing the team’s starters.

“We think playing our guys is the best thing for our football team. But you think through everything,” Sirianni said prior to the Eagles-Bills matchup, per The Athletic’s Zach Berman.

“I think anytime you step onto the football field, there’s an opportunity to get better. … We’re trying to play our best football by the end of the season.”

The Eagles Survive Against the Bills & Face Commanders in Week 18

Philadelphia survived a thriller in Buffalo to move to 11-5. Eagles fans will be rooting against the Bears as Chicago faces the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions to close out the season.

The Eagles will be a heavy favorite against the Washington Commanders in Week 18 but need a lot of help to move higher than the No. 3 seed. Chicago holds the tiebreaker against Philly as a result of the team’s head-to-head win this season. The Eagles need the Bears to lose their remaining two games to have a chance at the No. 2 seed.
