When it comes to any more apologies from Philadelphia Eagles superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown, don’t hold your breath.
Brown refused to apologize for calling the 2025 season a “(expletive) show” on a livestream on Tuesday, November 11, which continued a pattern established over the last several years of the Eagles winning and Brown blasting his team and teammates if he doesn’t get the touches he wants.
Brown made his latest comments after the Eagles improved to 7-2 with a 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 10 in which he had just 2 receptions for 13 yards.
“A.J. Brown said he won’t apologize for talking about his frustration on a Twitch stream Tuesday,” Eagles reporter E.J. Smith posted on his official X account on Wednesday, November 13. “He said ‘if you have eyes’ you can see why he’s frustrated and that he is pushing for the offense to improve because he wants to win and make an impact.”
The irony of Brown’s latest public meltdown is the Eagles won the game over the Packers with their passing game, as quarterback Jalen Hurts found wide receiver DeVonta Smith for a 36-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Numbers Back Up Brown’s Complaints
Brown has spent the last few years winning lots of games with the Eagles and, when it strikes him, complaining about not getting the ball.
It’s hard to argue with what the numbers tell us. Since the Eagles traded with the Tennessee Titans for Brown before the 2022 season, they’re 18-1 in regular season games in which Brown has at least 100 receiving yards.
Getting Brown the ball almost always means a win for the Eagles. The crazy drama that comes with it is almost a given at this point, so they might as well do it.
“I need to apologize,” The Ringer’s Sheil Kapadia wrote on his official X account on November 12. “I said last year that the 2024 Eagles were the best #TeamContent team in franchise history. I spoke too soon. No further comments at this time. Check back with me in January for an official ruling.”
Brown’s Comments Divisive as Always
While Brown’s comments were as divisive as always online, the practical nature of football seems to be bringing people to his cause.
“AJ Brown says thank you very much for the ring, but this is a new season,” NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark wrote on his official X account. “He says defenses have adapted to the Eagles offense and they have to adapt and get better. AJ wants to contribute more and be a reason why the Eagles offense gets better.”
“If you all can’t see why A.J. Brown is frustrated and voicing it, I don’t know what to tell you,” Bleeding Green’s John Stolnis wrote on his official X account. “He’s out there running wind sprints for three hours as the team struggles to put up points, running the same routes over and over and over again. You’d be frustrated too.”
