Bayindir, who moved to Old Trafford this summer from Turkish side Fenerbahce, made his first appearance for the Red Devils in Sunday’s 4-2 win over Newport.
The Turkey international was thrown into the XI with No.1 Onana unavailable due to being on international duty with Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking after United’s victory over League Two side Newport in the fourth round of the FA Cup, Ten Hag said: ‘I think it was a composed debut [by Bayindir].
‘Some good saves, so very composed. I think, overall, he can be happy. I was pleased with his performance.
‘Andre Onana will be back for Thursday [against Wolves in the Premier League]. Maybe, for the first time as long as I was manager, I can pick a team from the squad that is probably the strongest here.’
Bayindir, reflecting on his debut for United, said: ‘To play my first game, I am feeling very good. It is the biggest club in the world.

‘I feel special today [being the first Turkish player for Man Utd]. I feel very proud.
‘Of course I want to play more games. The manager will give chances. I thank the fans because they are supporting in every game and I am so happy.’
Meanwhile, Onana was accused of ‘alienating’ Cameroon fans and his international teammates at AFCON before they were knocked out by Nigeria on Saturday.
