Ex-Bucks Guard Arrested on Felony Charge

Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas on a third-degree felony assault charge, according to TMZ Sports. The outlet reports that Beverley allegedly assaulted a family or household member, including conduct that impeded the victim’s breath or circulation, a serious criminal offense under Texas law.

Beverley posted a $40,000 bond and is expected to be released later Friday, TMZ said.

The arrest drew immediate attention in Milwaukee, where Beverley played a meaningful late-season and playoff role for the Bucks during the 2023–24 campaign.

Beverley Played Key Minutes for the Bucks in 2024 Playoff Run

Beverley joined the Bucks at the 2024 trade deadline, giving Milwaukee some needed edge and perimeter defense during a turbulent season marked by coaching changes and roster turnover.

He played 25 regular-season games with the Bucks and appeared in all six games of Milwaukee’s postseason run. His final game — May 2, 2024, against the Indiana Pacers — ended in controversy when Beverley became involved in a now-infamous altercation with Pacers fans.

That moment has lingered in Milwaukee’s collective memory.

During the fourth quarter of the postseason loss, Beverley threw a basketball at a fan, striking a woman in the head, asked for the ball back, then fired it again at a different fan.

The NBA suspended him for four games, a penalty he has yet to serve. The Pacers fans later filed a civil lawsuit, alleging physical pain, emotional distress, humiliation, medical expenses, and lost wages.

NBA Fallout and Overseas Suspension Followed His Bucks Exit

After the Bucks declined to re-sign him, Beverley remained unsigned during the offseason. He ultimately signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, but that stint was also short-lived — the team suspended him in February and later parted ways.

The recent arrest adds another chapter to Beverley’s run of off-court and on-court controversies since leaving Milwaukee.

Klay Thompson Recently Criticized Beverley Over Comments About Megan Thee Stallion

Beverley’s arrest comes shortly after another viral moment involving Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson and Houston-born rapper Megan Thee Stallion, Thompson’s girlfriend.

On the Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ Podcast, Beverley and former NBA guard Jason Williams discussed whether dating a “powerful woman” — specifically Megan Thee Stallion — could affect a player’s performance. Williams used explicit language (“p***y”) that Thompson sharply condemned.

Thompson blasted both former players publicly:

“Referring to my girlfriend as a ‘p*y’ is disgusting and disturbing,”** Thompson wrote. “How would y’all feel if I referred to your wives that way? Do better.”

The exchange went viral across Milwaukee social channels, where fans still follow Beverley closely.

Beverley’s Basketball Future Remains in Doubt

With a felony charge, an active civil lawsuit, and an unserved NBA suspension, Patrick Beverley’s basketball future — whether in the NBA or overseas — is now highly uncertain.

Beverley has not publicly commented on his arrest. The Bucks have not released a statement.
