Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash are in contention to start for Aston Villa’s Premier League match against Leeds United on Sunday.

Konsa played in England’s 2-0 win against Serbia last Thursday but then withdrew from Thomas Tuchel’s squad due to a calf injury and did not feature in the victory over Albania.

Cash, meanwhile, played 81 minutes in Poland’s 1-1 draw against the Netherlands last Friday but was then left on the bench for the 3-2 win away to Malta on Monday night.

Konsa has played in all but one of Villa’s Premier League games so far this season, while Cash has been an ever-present on the right-hand side of Unai Emery’s defence.

Speaking at his press conference on Friday, Emery said he is hopeful that both Cash and Konsa will be available for Villa’s trip to Elland Road on Sunday.

‘Normally, we give them two days off after their last match playing there.

‘The only player ruled out for Sunday is Tyrone Mings. And other players, tomorrow we’ll train, the last training session, normally, it could be everyone available.

When asked if Konsa, Cash, Amadou Onana and Lamare Bogarde will be available to play against Leeds, Emery said: ‘They are training. Amadou is the only player who we will see tomorrow if he can play.’

Villa currently sit sixth in the Premier League have have won five of their last six Premier League games, with their only defeat in that run coming against Liverpool earlier this month.

Leeds, meanwhile, lost four of their last five Premier League games and are 16th in the table.
