Former $245 Million QB Lends a Hand to Micah Parsons Relocation to Green Bay

Social media was sent into a frenzy when the Green Bay Packers completed their trade for Micah Parsons. Jerry Jones went through with the same trade that embarrassed them in the playoffs two years prior.

Parsons may have had a hand in his trade destination as he wasn’t about to turn down a $188 million deal. All-in-all, the Packers only had to give up one player (who had his worst season in 2024) and two first-round draft picks to get the job done. After doing so, a former Wisconsin Badgers QB knew he could help out the former Dallas Cowboys star.

Russell Wilson Tries to Help Micah Parsons’s Green Bay Relocation Go Smoothly

One of the things the casual fan doesn’t consider is once a player is traded, their entire life changes. Parsons now has to pack up his things as living in Dallas may have been nice, but now he moves to an entirely different part of the United States.

Green Bay Packers fans will be the first to tell you that GB is one of, if not the best cities in the world. They’re a bit more than biased, but not even Russell Wilson knows everything Green Bay is about. For those unfamiliar, Wilson is a former Badgers player, but the Badgers play in Madison. Madison is just over a two-hour drive to GB.

Regardless, Wisconsin is Wisconsin. Wilson spent enough time in the state to build a few connections and know his way around, “You know Micah Parsons I went to Wisconsin… Anything you need in Wisco… Packing ur bags, moving company, just let me know.”

Parsons responded less than an hour later with a few hand-shaking emojis along with the saying, “Hit my line.” It’s clear he’ll take all the help he can get as he takes the next step in his NFL journey.

Revisiting Russell Wilson’s Time at Wisconsin

Before signing a $245 Million contract with the Denver Broncos, Wilson had already proven himself with the Seattle Seahawks. Now, he’s stuck on the New York Giants in a QB battle that no one would have expected years ago.

Wilson was selected with the No. 75 overall pick back in 2012. He’s been in the league for over a decade as many would argue his best days are behind him. At 36-years-old, Wilson is looking to get back to his glory days.

Packers fans haven’t forgotten his 2011 season with the Badgers. After beginning his career at NC State, Wilson found himself in Wisconsin for his fourth and final season. This was before the days of the transfer portal, so Wilson coming to town was a huge deal.

The Badgers 2011 season saw the team go 11-3 (6-2). Wilson avenged his 37-31 loss to Michigan State by taking them down in the Big 10 Championship game, 42-39. From there, he was unsuccessful in winning the Rose Bowl as they fell to Oregon, 45-38.

New York’s current QB1 threw for 3,175 yards with an incredible 72.8% completion percentage. He threw 33 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions, a ratio that hasn’t been seen at the University since. While it was only one season in Wisconsin, Wilson can offer more than enough guidance for Parsons upon his relocation.
