Former Raiders QB & RB Sign With New Teams With One Game Left

The 2025 NFL season is coming to an end for the teams that aren’t going to be in the playoffs, like the Las Vegas Raiders. However, there are teams that still have playoff games to play or are already looking toward the offseason.

This led to a couple of former Raiders landing with new teams ahead of Week 18. Quarterback Desmond Ridder started a game for Las Vegas last season, but wasn’t brought back. He has been bouncing all around the league this year, and there was even talk in the offseason that he might choose to retire.

He has signed with his third team of the 2025 season, as the Green Bay Packers announced that they’ve decided to bring him on to the practice squad. If he sticks with the team, his season will continue, as the Packers are set to make the playoffs.

Ridder wasn’t the only former Raider to sign with an NFC North team. The Minnesota Vikings announced that they have signed running back Sincere McCormick to their practice squad.

The young running back showed some promise with the Raiders last season before an injury derailed that. He’s bounced around the NFL this season and might not get a chance to play with the Vikings out of playoff contention.

Devin White Talks Breaking Raiders Tackle Record

There haven’t been many exciting moments for the Raiders players this season, but linebacker Devin White can at least look back at the fact that he set the franchise record for tackles in a season. He surpassed the previous record of 158 combined tackles set by Robert Spillane last year.

He’s happy that he has cemented himself in the Raiders’ history books.

“My name will be somewhere, it will mean something to somebody,” White said, per Raiders.com. “It will give somebody else something to chase and it just shows my ability. I’m just thankful for the opportunity from the Raiders organization to show what I can do. Go out there and chase the ball, be one of the one’s they can count on that’s going to help the team.

“It feels good being able to put it out there on tape so whoever felt like [for] whatever reasons why I couldn’t do something, I’m showing them that I still can.”

Eric Stokes Finds New Life in Las Vegas

Perhaps the best free agent addition the Raiders made this offseason was cornerback Eric Stokes. He quickly earned a starting job and has been the team’s best defensive back. He was happy to prove the doubters wrong this season.

“It’s nothing personal, just reminding them who the (expletive) I am,” Stokes said, per Raiders.com. “I wasn’t [injury-prone] coming out. They were acting like it wasn’t a major injury that I went through and had to come back from. They just forget about all that.”

“It’s been a stressful past four years,” he added. “It’s been a long four years of just working and working and praying for results. Now I’m back to feeling good, it’s just about coming here day in and day out and not taking anything for granted. When you get the game taken away from you, there’s a lot of little things that mean more to you.”
