The Georgia Bulldogs flexed their muscles in a big 41-21 win over Mississippi State. Mississippi State received the ball to start the game, put together a long-sustained drive to go up 7-0, and then Nate Frazier, Gunner Stockton, and company scored 38 unanswered to put the game out of reach.
The Dawgs’ offense looked to be firing on all cylinders, and several key contributors were alive and well on the scoresheet. Coming into the game, it was a bit unclear who would be getting the majority of the carries at running back, but Nate Frazier may have solidified his RB1 role with a dominating performance. Georgia took a 41-14 lead into the fourth quarter, and Gunner Stockton was removed from the game at that point.
Georgia’s Nate Frazier Rushes for 174 Yards Against Mississippi State
Georgia’s win over Mississippi State might have been so easy because of Nate Frazier, who carried the ball 12 times for 181 yards and a rushing touchdown. That is 15 yards a carry, and his usage was cut off in the fourth quarter due to the large Bulldog lead. His 12 carries was six more than the next Georgia player, and fellow running back Chauncey Bowens carried the ball seven times for 28 yards.

As for Stockton’s final numbers, he completed 18 of his 29 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Noah Thomas caught a 64-yard touchdown pass. But back to Nate Frazier, there were question marks about Frazier’s role in the offense just a few weeks ago after he seemingly had a fumble problem. He may still have that problem, but Frazier runs the ball with a purpose, and his shifty run style makes him hard for defenders to tackle.
Georgia Football Continues to Get Better and Better
It will be interesting to see what head coach Kirby Smart says after the game about Frazier’s performance, the offense getting off to a better start, and Georgia being able to consistently pressure Mississippi State.
There’s no other way to put it but to say candidly, this Georgia Bulldogs team continues to get better and better each week. CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson are forming into one of the best linebacker duos in the country. Georgia has a great quarterback in Gunner Stockton and explosive playmakers at offensive skill positions.
Despite losing Jordan Hall on the defensive side of the football, Georgia’s young linemen stepped up. Zachariah Branch had eight catches for 68 yards and a touchdown as well.
As the SEC schedule starts to wind down, Georgia has a legit shot at making the SEC Championship game if they can get some help from teams that play Alabama and Texas A&M. Georgia’s only loss this season came at the hands of Alabama.
