Giants’ Abdul Carter Sends Strong Message to Broncos After Jaxson Dart Comments

The New York Giants are one of the most exciting teams in the NFL right now. After a dismal start to the season, the Giants have pulled off a pair of major upset defeats over the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles to put themselves back on the map. Now, they are gearing up for a big clash with the Denver Broncos in Week 7.

While Denver is the favorite on paper, New York has proven that it can take down the best teams in the league when it plays its style of football. The Broncos don’t seem rattled, though, as they have trash-talked the Giants’ rookie quarterback, Jaxson Dart, throughout the week. Unsurprisingly, that hasn’t sat well with his teammates, leading to a strong message from fellow rookie Abdul Carter.

Abdul Carter Fires Back at Broncos

It’s no surprise that the Giants’ turnaround has coincided with Dart taking over for Russell Wilson under center. In his first three NFL starts, Dart isn’t exactly picking apart defenses, but he’s doing what he needs to in order to move his team up and down the field, throwing for 508 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 167 yards and another pair of scores.

The team’s other first-round rookie in the 2025 NFL Draft, Carter, has also been eased into the action, although he’s played in all six of the team’s games so far. During that time, Carter has 13 tackles and 0.5 sacks, although his eight quarterback hits indicate that his sack total should begin to increase steadily moving forward.

Carter will have a little extra chip on his shoulder heading into Week 7 after seeing the Broncos speak poorly about Dart. On Friday, Carter addressed the situation, saying he’s always going to stand up for his teammates and that he’s looking forward to settling things with Denver on Sunday afternoon.

“We believe in our guys,” Carter said on Friday. “I wouldn’t put too much into it, but we ready for Sunday, we’re gonna settle everything on the field … It don’t really matter no more.”

Giants Looking to Stun the World Again with Upset Victory vs. Broncos

Bulletin board material is always a dangerous thing to give teams in the NFL, especially a team that has already shown it can spoil your day like the Giants. Denver is 4-2 compared to New York’s 2-4, but it is worth noting that they struggled to put away the New York Jets in Week 6. Could that be a sign of what’s to come in Week 7 against the Giants?

If Carter and Dart have anything to do with it, they will hand the Broncos a crushing victory that will shut them up after weeks’ worth of chatter. Doing so will be easier said than done, but with Dart under center, it feels like New York can win any time it takes the field. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, and given all the trash talk that has taken place, this could end up being one of the top games of the week.
