New York Giants beat reporter and SNY insider Connor Hughes relayed news of a veteran release on the evening of March 29, at the tail end of NFL free agency ahead of the draft.
“BREAKING: The Giants are releasing K Graham Gano, sources tell @SNYtv,” Hughes reported on X. Officially closing the door on Gano’s up-and-down tenure with the G-Men.
Gano signed two extensions with the Giants. The second was a three-year, $16.5 million contract that was agreed to in 2023.
According to Over the Cap, New York will save $4.5 million in cap space by cutting ties with the soon-to-be 39-year-old kicker. They will take on a dead cap hit of $1.25 million.
