Giants’ Jaxson Dart Sends Strong Message to 49ers Fans

The San Francisco 49ers are among the handful of teams whose fans travel well and often can take over an opponent’s stadium. On November 2, in the 34-24 win over the New York Giants, the 49ers faithful were able to make MetLife Stadium feel like a home game.

San Francisco fans had plenty to cheer about in the Week 9 win. Running back Christian McCaffery nearly had 200 yards from scrimmage, but did find the endzone twice against New York, one receiving and one rushing.

Having played in the SEC for Ole Miss, Jaxson Dart isn’t used to seeing the opposing team’s fans take over a stadium on the road. As a result, he shared his true thoughts after the loss of 49ers fans who made the stadium feel like a home game for the Niners.

“That was interesting,” Dart told reporters. “I’ve never played at a home game where I felt like it was lopsided in that department. But they have a good fan base and they traveled well.”

San Francisco’s Defense Kept Jaxson Dart Quiet

Although the 49ers’ defense has been riddled with injuries left and right this season, they put together a respectable performance for their fans in New York. Dart is gaining confidence with every game since becoming the Giants‘ starting quarterback. However, the 49ers’ defense did limit the rookie’s impact.

Dart had two passing and one rushing touchdown, but only recorded 192 passing yards, and none of his receivers had more than 65 receiving yards. Moreover, the 49ers’ plan to limit Dart’s impact on the game through the air worked, and with injuries to key players like Malik Nabers and Cameron Skattebo, there’s only so much the first-year signal caller can do.

49ers Could Be Seeing the Best From Brian Robinson Jr.

Along with McCaffery, Brian Robinson Jr. was another player who had the 49ers fans at MetLife Stadium cheering. The 26-year-old had his best game since coming to San Francisco, with five rushing attempts, 53 rushing yards, and one touchdown.

With the 2025 NFL season at the midway and the Niners battling for the NFC West, they cannot afford to lose a player like McCaffery. As a result, they need someone like Robinson to run the football effectively and take some of the responsibility off his teammates’ shoulders, as it will allow him to stay fresh in this critical part of the campaign.

After the win over the Giants, Christian McCaffrey spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on Robinson’s performance and his importance to the team.

“It’s awesome,” McCaffrey told reporters (h/t KNBR). “He runs so hard, and it feels like this whole season it’s just been… You could tell he’s itching and might not be the way he wants it to be right now. But to have him is huge for me. It means a lot to me. He pushes me.

“The way he runs, if we can continue to get that flow of the game in there, I’m really excited. You couldn’t ask for a guy to have a better attitude coming to work every day, to have that mindset and keep pushing. Really pumped he’s in our room, and I think it’s only going to get better.”
