Giants Super Bowl Champion Absolutely Let Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Have it

At some point, it’s only fair to question if Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants to win. Despite some of the moves he’s made in recent years, Jones knows a lot of football. The reality of the situation, however, is that with Micah Parsons still without a contract, it’s only fair to wonder what he wants to do as the owner of this team.

Is his job to win a championship or make as much money as possible?

There are a few ways to answer that question, but the fact is that Jones owns arguably the biggest sports franchise in the world. The Cowboys will make money regardless of whether they lose or win every game that entire year.

However, some believe he only wants money, including Chris Canty, who is now with ESPN. Canty played for the Cowboys during his career, and the now 42-year-old is speaking out about everything Jones has done wrong throughout his time as the team’s owner.

“The Dallas Cowboys are for entertainment purposes only,” Canty said on “First Take.” “Before the Cowboys come on the TV, before we see that game where they show the NFL branding… they need to have a warning label come on the TV screen that says, ‘This is for entertainment purposes only.’

“They are playing a different game than the other 31 teams in the National Football League. Because they are in the attention-seeking business, not the Lombardi-chasing business.”

Is Jerry Jones Causing Drama for the Cowboys on Purpose?

Jones has been known for stirring the pot a bit with the Dallas Cowboys, and according to Canty, that’s exactly what he’s done. However, stirring the pot and winning a championship are two different things for the Cowboys, and that’s what Canty wanted to touch on in his comments.

“Yeah, it’s good stuff when it comes to driving revenue,” Canty said of Jones’ willingness to stir the pot. “But that controversy is counter to creating the culture that you need to contend for championships. And I should know because I won one of them things right after I left the Dallas Cowboys.”

Does Jerry Jones Want Dallas to Win Another Super Bowl?

Despite all of the questionable decisions the Dallas Cowboys have made in recent years, mainly now with Parsons, but also with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in the past, Jones has been on record saying that he wants to win.

Whether those words are correct or not, he had the following to say, according to Sports Illustrated.

“The decisions I’m making are not based on rebuilding. They’re based on competing and competing now,” Jones said, “I think I paid Dak more than anybody has ever been paid in the NFL. That’s now. That’s not the future.”

After Parsons requested a trade, Adam Schefter said on “NFL Live” that Jones wants to win right now and isn’t looking toward the future. If that’s true, then Parsons should have a massive deal waiting for him.

“But Jerry Jones wants to win now. He’s not looking to win in the future. He’s not looking for future draft picks. And his history suggests that he won’t be willing to make a trade here. Now, we have yet to hear from the Dallas Cowboys about how they feel about this particular situation,” he said.
