An amateur golf player hit the shot of his life to make a hole-in-one over Bryson DeChambeau’s house and win a life-changing $100,000 prize.

DeChambeau took social media by storm earlier in the year when the two-time major champion set himself the task of making a hole-in-one over his glass windowed, $2,000,000 Texas home.

Eventually, the LIV Golf star achieved the impressive feat after 16 days and 134 attempts.

To start the New Year, however, DeChambeau offered one lucky fan the chance to win $100,000 if they could repeat his viral feat within seven hours.

Before the challenge, DeChambeau backed the fan, Jimmy Elliot, to make the hole-in-one but expected it would take some time.

‘I think there’s going to be some ups and downs in this challenge for him,’ DeChambeau said on his YouTube video.

‘He’s really going to struggle right off the rip. He’s not going to be comfortable. He’s not going to know how far to hit.

‘What’s a 95-yard shot? As we tell him where the balls are landing, where they’re going, I think he’s going to start getting into the flow of it.

‘And then about three hours in, he’s going to start struggling. It’s going to be so much. His back is going to be hurting, everything’s going to be hurting, and I think at the 5-hour, 43-minute mark or something like that, he’ll finally get it done.’

It was to everyone’s amazement, therefore, when after just five attempts, Elliot’s ball pitched just short of the hole and rolled into the cup for a miraculous hole-in-one.

Having received confirmation of the hole-in-one, the pair celebrated wildly before Elliot went to retrieve his lucky ball from the other side of the house.

‘Literally took him six minutes to make it,’ DeChambeau joked. ‘It took me 134 frickin balls.’

‘That was incredible,’ Elliot said while holding his winning ball. ‘Thank you to Bryson. This is incredible. Life-changing, man. Thank you.’

‘This is up there with my wedding day,’ he continued. ‘So don’t tell my wife.’

Away from his social media presence, DeChambeau enjoyed a resurgent year in professional golf which culminated with his dramatic second US Open win in June.

The 31-year-old is now ranked tenth in the world ahead of the new season where one of his main focuses will be securing a return to the US Ryder Cup team for September’s match play competition.
