Historic Taylor Swift Announcement Made Before Chiefs-Commanders Game

The Kansas City Chiefs, fresh off their most dominant win of the season, obliterating the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0, look to keep the moment going against the Washington Commanders.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Co. have scored at least 28 points in their last four games. As for the Commanders, their defense has allowed the fourth-most yards in the league and the 12th-most points.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce called Washington “a talented football team” on the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “Outstanding coaches, they got a lot of vets on that team. They’re going to be ready. They’re going to be fired up for a Monday night game.”

Kelce has recorded 31 catches for 375 yards and two touchdowns this season. He’s one score away from tying his touchdown total last season (3). His 79 total career touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2013 are by far the most of any tight end in that time span. If he scores one touchdown against the Commanders, he’ll make NFL history as the fifth tight end to ever record 80 touchdowns.

The future Hall of Famer’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, is also breaking new records. One day before the Commanders-Chiefs game, her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” made music history.

Taylor Swift Set A Billboard Record After Her Album Stayed at No. 1 for the 3rd Straight Week

“The Life of Showgirl,” which features numerous songs inspired by Kelce, remained at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for the third straight week.

It’s just the second album of 2025 to remain at No. 1 in its first three weeks. Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” held the top spot for eight weeks following its release. However, Swift’s cumulative album success broke a historic new record.

Billboard announced, “By holding at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (dated Nov. 1) for a third week with ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ Taylor Swift ups her career total of weeks at No. 1 on that chart to 89 – a tally topped by only one act in the chart’s 69-year history.

“The Beatles amassed 132 weeks at No. 1 between 1964 and 2001, giving them a comfortable, 43-week lead over Swift, but at the rate she’s going, she may eventually equal or surpass them.” As a solo act, however, Swift reigns supreme.

“Swift is already the top solo artist on our list of acts with the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the top American artist.”

Will Taylor Swift Attend Commanders-Chiefs Game on Monday Night Football?

Thus far this season, Swift has only attended Chiefs’ home games. Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium to watch Kansas City’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 and looked on as the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 37-20 in Week 3.

In addition to the Raiders-Chiefs game, the 14-time Grammy winner also attended the Chiefs’ 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 6. She also cheered Kelce on during Kansas City’s blowout win over the Raiders last week.

With the Commanders traveling to Arrowhead Stadium for Monday Night Football, all signs point toward Swift making an appearance at the game.
