Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain head to Italy on Wednesday hoping to get their season off to an ideal start in the UEFA Super Cup.

Spurs will be playing the Super Cup for the first time thanks to their win over Manchester United in the Europa League final at the end of last season.

PSG come in as favourites after they lifted the Champions League in some style, thrashing Inter Milan to complete a brilliant treble.

The first official Super Cup was held in 1973 as Ajax hammered AC Milan 6-1 and the event has been held ever since.

Real Madrid have won it more than any other side (6), with Liverpool the most successful English team having triumphed four times.
