Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark Tipped to Team Up With NBA Star’s Sister

The Indiana Fever have the No. 10 pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, and they are projected to pair an NBA star’s sister with Caitlin Clark.

Indiana had a solid season last year despite Clark being limited to just 13 games because of multiple muscle-related injuries. They went to the WNBA semifinals and pushed the eventual 2025 champs, the Las Vegas Aces, to the brink.

Due to their 24-20 record, the Fever weren’t part of the lottery and were automatically given the 10th overall selection, as per Tankathon.

Fever Projected To Draft UCLA Star

According to the latest WNBA mock draft by Sporting News’ David Suggs, the Fever are tipped to select UCLA’s Gabriela Jaquez with the No. 10 pick. Gabriela is the younger sister of Miami Heat star Jamie Jaquez Jr., who is one of the favorites to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year this season.

“Jaquez possesses all the skills desired out of a modern wing,” Suggs wrote. “She projects to be something of a utility player at the next level, with her potential hinging on whether her jumper is consistent. Jaquez sank 54% of her threes against non-conference opposition. That figure dropped to just 30% against Big Ten foes.”

Gabriela is averaging 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game as a senior. She’s also shooting 54.2% from the field, 39.3% from 3-point range and 85.3% from beyond the arc.

With the Fever likely undergoing roster changes due to free agency and the expansion draft, the 6-foot guard is a welcome addition to the team’s backcourt, consisting of Clark and most likely Kelsey Mitchell.

Clark Won MVP This Offseason

After an injury-plagued sophomore campaign in the WNBA, Clark was cleared for basketball activities last December. She returned to the court in Team USA’s training camp for the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico.

Clark was named to the final roster, playing all five games in last month’s tournament. She was named MVP after averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 assists in five games, helping Team USA to a 5-0 record. She was second in the team in scoring and led the tournament in assists.

It should be noted that Team USA already qualified for the World Cup and used this tournament to improve chemistry. The official tournament is scheduled from September 4 to 13 in Berlin, Germany.

Team USA held another training camp at the start of April, but they brought on more veterans this time around. The only players from the Puerto Rico tournament to return were Monique Billings, Paige Bueckers and Rae Burrell.

The rest of the invitees include WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson , Napheesa Collier, Sabrina Ionescu, Stefanie Dolson, Cameron Brink, Veronica Burton, Rickea Jackson, Brittney Sykes, Kayla Thornton, and college stars JuJu Watkins and Mikayla Blakes.
