Jalen Hurts’ True Feelings on A.J. Brown Revealed Amid Eagles Drama

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown continues to be frustrated, and all eyes are on Jalen Hurts as to how the franchise quarterback will handle the situation. Things did not get any better for Brown and the Eagles as the Denver Broncos handed the team their first loss of the season in Week 5.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Hurts wants to get Brown the ball more amid his public frustration.

“Brown is seeing the ball,” Russini wrote in an October 4, 2025, story titled, “What I’m Hearing on A.J. Brown’s future, J.J. McCarthy’s status and MetLife turf.” “He’s just not seeing it the way he wants.

“I’m told Hurts wants to feed him and wants to throw to him, it’s just about having patience in early October.”

Eagles WR A.J. Brown Posted Cryptic Message on Social Media in Now-Deleted Post

As for the early results of Brown’s frustration, the wideout posted five receptions for 43 yards against the Broncos, not exactly a massive day for the star playmaker. Brown posted a cryptic message following the Eagles‘ win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” Brown said in a now deleted-post on X, per NFL.com. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts & A.J. Brown No Longer Appear to Have Close Relationship: Insider

Hurts may want to get the ball more to Brown, but the two stars do not appear to be as close as the duo was in the past. Their relationship has transformed from being close friends to something more “professional,” per Russini.

“Brown and Hurts have a long history,” Russini detailed. “High school and college friends turned NFL teammates, Hurts is the godfather to Brown’s daughter, Jersee. A former teammate once described them as ‘an old married couple,’ but I’m told they’re not that close these days.

“Like any friendship, life happens. Family responsibilities, the grind of being pros, shifting priorities. They’re friendly, but as one Eagles player described it: ‘It’s functional, professional.’”

Jalen Hurts After Eagles’ Loss vs. Broncos: ‘I Can’t Tell You What the Issue Is’

After the Eagles‘ loss to the Broncos, Hurts appeared puzzled on the solution for the issues. Hurts took responsibility for the outing while maintaining confidence that things will get corrected.

“I can’t tell you what the issue is,” Hurts told reporters on October 5, per Eagles Nation. “Ultimately, I can take accountability for everything, and take responsibility for it all.

“The lack of execution, the lack of the sense of urgency. I take responsibility for all of it, and I’m just trying to find solutions for it.”

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni on A.J. Brown: ‘I Question Nothing About His Desire … To Be Here’

Days before the Eagles-Broncos matchup, head coach Nick Sirianni attempted to squash the chatter about Brown’s future in Philly. Sirianni spoke glowingly about the Eagles wideout amid the latest drama.

“Obviously A.J. is very important to this football team,” Sirianni noted, per CBS Sports. “I know he wants to contribute and do the things that he’s capable of doing.

“He wants to contribute into these wins, and he’s had a couple of games where he hasn’t been able to for different reasons. But I question nothing about his desire to play great football, his desire to be a good teammate, his desire to be here.”
