Jets Get Massive News Ahead of Browns Game

The New York Jets got healthy during the bye week.

Head coach Aaron Glenn shared the positive injury news ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Wide receiver Garrett Wilson will return to practice this week. That is a massive development considering Wilson hurt his knee during the Week 6 contest against the Denver Broncos. The former Ohio State product has been unable to practice with that injury.

When asked by the media what his confidence level is that Wilson will actually return to the lineup this week, Coach Glenn played things close to the vest.

“Listen, he is going to practice this week. So I’m looking forward to him getting out to practice, and we’ll see how that goes during the week. I don’t want to place too much on him right now, but I am excited about him getting out there and being able to practice this week,” Coach Glenn said on Monday, November 3.

Other Jets Players Returning to Practice off Injuries

That wasn’t the only positive development for the green and white.

Coach Glenn revealed that rookie tight end Mason Taylor, veteran Stone Smartt, quarterback Tyrod Taylor, and running back Breece Hall will also practice this week “to some degree.”

Additionally, several Jets players suffered concussions before the bye week.

Coach Glenn revealed that return specialist Kene Nwangwu, rookie linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, and star cornerback Sauce Gardner are “finishing up” the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol.

“I’m assuming that will go perfectly, so looking forward to those guys going out and practicing,” Coach Glenn said.

Wilson’s Return Would Be a Welcomed Addition for the Jets Offense

The former Ohio State product can’t return to the lineup soon enough.

He has missed two games — Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers and Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In Week 7, the Jets only mustered 220 total net yards on offense. Only one wide receiver on the team finished with more than 30 receiving yards (Tyler Johnson with 60 receiving yards).

In Week 8, the Jets’ offense exploded, putting up 39 points. That was by far their highest offensive output of the 2025 season.

However, it featured some smoke-and-mirrors. Once again, only one wide receiver finished with more than 31 receiving yards, and it was Johnson for a second straight game (64 yards).

It also should be noted that the Bengals’ defense is awful.

“The Cincinnati Bengals now have the second-worst defense through 9 games by DVOA, since 1978. Only the 1979 49ers were worse. Part of the issue: the Bengals have actually played one of the easiest schedules of opposing offenses,” ESPN NFL analyst Aaron Schatz posted on social media.

“The NFL started tracking points per drive in 2000. Yep, the 2025 Bengals defense is the worst through the first 9 games of a season,” Jay Morrison of Sports Illustrated revealed.

In other words, outside of that Bengals outlier game, the Jets have been terrible on offense without Wilson.

So him returning to the lineup would be a massive boost for the Jets. If you pair that with the better play the Jets have displayed on defense and special teams, perhaps they can start winning some games to boot.
