Real Madrid are ready to listen to offers for midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni with Manchester United interested in a summer move.
United are seeking to rebuild their midfield this summer with a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta expected to be confirmed next month.
Elliot Anderson has been their leading target but the Nottingham Forest star is expected to join Manchester City.
Tchouameni is also high up on their shortlist with United considering an ambitious swoop for the France international who has been a key figure at the Santiago Bernabeu where Jose Mourinho has just arrived for a second stint in charge.

Real want to bring in a creative midfielder this summer with Enzo Fernandez emerging as Mourinho’s top target with Chelsea looking for £120million for the Argentina international.
But a major departure in midfield is regarded as necessary to make room for any new addition.
Eduardo Camavinga is one candidate to leave with both Mourinho and Madrid prepared to let him go, The Athletic report. However, sources close to the player regard an exit this summer as ‘impossible.’
If Camavinga cannot be moved on, selling Tchouameni will be considered.
Fede Valverde, who was involved in a training ground fight with Tchouameni last month, is not up for sale.
United could be encouraged by developments regarding the Frenchman’s situation in Madrid. Reports have suggested he could be available for £70million should Real decide to move him on.
Since getting a deal for Ederson over the line, their focus has been West Ham United star Mateus Fernandes, who the Hammers value at £80million.
United have no desire to meet that asking price and now face competition from Tottenham with the Portuguese midfielder also open to a move to north London.
United want to sign at least two midfielders this summer following Casemiro’s exit – three should Manuel Ugarte also leave the club.
