Josh Allen Delivers Warning on Browns Star Myles Garrett

Buffalo Bills star quarterback has no interest in being part of Myles Garrett’s highlight tape as the Cleveland Browns star eyes the single-season sack record.

Garrett enters Sunday’s matchup against Josh Allen and the Bills just one sack shy of tying the record. If he brings Allen down more than once, he won’t just make an impact on the game — he’ll etch his name into the history books.

Allen is one of the hardest quarterbacks to take down in the league thanks to his size and mobility. He admits he hasn’t thought about Garrett’s historic chase, but also wants no part of it.

“No, I haven’t thought about it,” Allen said on Wednesday. “I do like highlight tapes, but I don’t like being part of other people’s highlight tapes. He’s an absolutely tremendous football player. He’s one of the greatest of all time, and yeah, he’s a force to be reckoned with, and we’ve got to be ready for everything that they can throw at us, but you have to be aware of where 95 is at at all times.

“He’s the biggest guy out there, he’s the fastest guy out there, his ability to get off blocks, his motor is really higher than anybody else that you’ll ever play. He can beat you with speed and power. He’s just the all-around football player.”

Allen: Browns Defense More Than Just Myles Garrett

Garrett has already cemented himself among the best pass-rushers in NFL history. But Allen is well aware of the other weapons the Browns have on defense, which include Defensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner Carson Schwesinger.

“We all know how great (Garrett) is,” Allen said. “He’s not the only guy that they’ve got. They’ve got a really great unit. They’ve got a really good secondary, two of the top corners in the league, they’ve got one of the best rookies playing their linebacker position, so you’ve got to be like I said all hands on deck, and it’s going to take every single guy to go out there and accomplish what we need to accomplish.”

Allen is the defending MVP and is having another strong year. He’s passed for 3,276 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Allen has added 535 yards and 12 more touchdowns with his legs.

Browns May Get Denzel Ward Back

The Browns’ defense did not look right against the Bears. And part of that as due to the absence of Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward, who missed the game with a calf injury. Ward said he hopes to play on Sunday.

“It was very tough, seeing it definitely from a different perspective,” Ward said. “I was on the sideline watching, seeing it. We’ve got a lot to work on. But yeah, it was tough. It was tough not being out there with everybody and I always want to fight with my guys.”

In all, nine players were idle at practice on Wednesday. That included Joel Bitonio (knee), Jack Conklin (concussion), Garrett (rest), Mike Hall Jr. (illness), Teven Jenkins (shoulder), David Njoku (knee), Winston Reid (back), Dylan Sampson (hand), and Ward (calf).
