Josh Allen Gets Big News as Bills Season Inches Closer

This time of year is among the slowest for news in the NFL world, including for the Buffalo Bills, because it’s that downtime before training camp starts up in July. Of course, once training camp begins, all bets are off, and it’ll be full-speed ahead into the 2025 season for the Bills and every other NFL team.

The Bills can rest easy that they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in MVP-winning Josh Allen. So, now, the focus is on making sure the team has all the pieces in place surrounding Allen, as well as on the defensive lineup, to get the Bills to the final game this season.

Ahead of the new season, Allen has gotten some news that should offer a little wind on his back ahead of minicamp.

More Excitement for Bills Quarterback Josh Allen

It’s been an exciting year for Allen, between being crowed the league’s most valuable player and getting married. But, the year isn’t over yet, and Allen has more honors on the way.

Allen is up for two ESPY Awards, which will be presented live at the ESPYs on July 16. Allen is nominated for Best Male Athlete and Best NFL Player. What’s extra special is that Allen and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley are the only NFL players that are up for both awards.

For Best Male Athlete, the other nominees include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder‬ and ‬‭Shohei Ohtani from the Los Angeles Dodgers‬. For NFL Player of the Year, the other nominees are Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens‬ and Patrick Surtain II from the Denver Broncos‬ as the nominees for NFL player of the year.

Considering that Allen won MVP in the NFL, he might have a good chance of winning NFL Player of the Year at the ESPYs. The awards will air live on Wednesday, July 16, on ABC.

Josh Allen Honored Bills Tradition at Wedding

Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld got married on May 31 during a private ceremony in California, and now, we know that during the wedding, the couple honored a old ritual that the Bills known all about. The whole thing stated in video that surfaced after tight end Dawson Knox’s wedding last year, where guests, including Allen, were spotted rocking out to “Mr. Brightside” from The Killers’ 2004 debut studio album Hot Fuss.

Now, Bills tackle Spencer Brown has confirmed that “Mr. Brightside,” yes, was played at Allen’s wedding. But, don’t expect to see any clips of the moment online.

“I don’t think any videos are going to surface from that evening, but it was played and it was awesome,” said Brown during and appearance on Eric Wood’s Centered On Buffalo Podcast. Brown added that, “We look forward to hearing it again all season long, but it was a good time [at Allen’s wedding].”

So, it sounds like a fun time was had by all. With Allen and Steinfeld’s high-profile stance, they probably could have gotten the band, who is also known for its Christmas singles, to actually play the wedding, if that was what they wanted. But, either way, the musical tradition prevailed.
