Kevin Durant’s Savage Insult To Dillon Brooks’ Trash Talk Revealed

NBA legend Kevin Durant lost his cool when Dillon Brooks tried to trash talk him and put the role player in his place during last night’s Houston Rockets vs Phoenix Suns game. Brooks is known for saying disrespectful things to top stars in the league and tries to get into the head of his opponents to help his team. LeBron James and Stephen Curry are two names who have clashed with Brooks in the past over him trying to “bully” them on the defensive side.

Houston’s 119-105 victory featured Brooks talking to Durant and hoping to upset him during a tense moment in the second quarter. Durant responded with the following ruthless response:

“My worst season is better than your best season.”

Brooks and Durant were traded for each other last offseason to make this situation more interesting. Phoenix moved Durant to the Rockets in a multi-team deal that landed them both Brooks and Jalen Green to improve their depth.

Both teams seem better off this season with each getting their ideal results. The Suns have a chance at the playoffs and appear to be building a better future after losing a future Hall of Famer. Houston’s seeding is worse than last season, but they have a higher ceiling for playoff success with Durant.

Kevin Durant Embarrassed Dillon Brooks In Every Way

The interactions between Durant and Brooks featured them showing hostility between each other. Durant often shows his displeasure over lesser players talking trash to him since he’s a clear top 15 all-time great NBA legend still playing at an All-NBA level today.

Brooks started the trash talk with Durant, but the first play afterwards saw KD making him fall via a crossover and hitting a jump shot. The embarrassing moment made Brooks look ridiculous for trying to bully Durant and ending up on falling down as his opponent hit a shot.

Durant got instant revenge, delivered a vicious comeback insult, and saw his team winning the game with an epic fourth quarter performance. Brooks is having a dream season with career high scoring, but these moments trying to intimidate other stars usually end with him looking like a fool.

Is Kevin Durant’s Insult About Brooks Accurate?

The brutal line from Durant about his worst season being better than Brooks hits harder due to the truth behind it. Durant entered the league as an instant star averaging over 20 points per game with the Seattle SuperSonics before they became the Oklahoma City Thunder one year later.

Every season after his rookie year has featured Durant putting up over 25 points per game. Brooks is having his best season ever with an average of 20.2 points per game, which still falls below Durant’s rookie scoring average.

Most supporters of Brooks would argue that his impact comes outside of the numbers. The Memphis Grizzlies, Rockets, and Suns all have improved after adding Brooks to their starting lineup. However, Durant’s worst scoring average topping Brooks’ best year is still funny given the amount of talking that the latter does.
