Las Vegas Raiders Superstar Turns Heads For Meetup With Another Big Superstar

Having the NBA Summer League entirely in Las Vegas means that the Las Vegas Raiders can catch a lot of basketball over the summer.

There was clearly one guy that Raiders star EDGE rusher Maxx Crosby wanted to see: No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.

While Crosby didn’t see Flagg play in the Mavericks’ 90-82 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday July 16, 2025, he did get to meet the former Duke star, And just from their brief meeting, Crosby is already a fan.

“Dallas Got A Great One,” Crosby wrote in a post on X, which also featured a photo of Flagg and Crosby together.

The cross-sport meetup was one of the most star studded moments of the NBA Summer League thus far.

Maxx Crosby Was A High School Basketball Star

Even though he’s clearly meant for the gridiron, Maxx Crosby knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a great basketball player too.

Back in high school at Colleyville Heritage High, Crosby played basketball in addition to football.

And he’s still got it, too. Back in 2023, Crosby made an appearance on the “Green Light” podcast with NFL legend Chris Long. During the episode, Crosby was asked if he was the best basketball player on the Raiders at that time. His answer was a confident yes.

“Humbly, I think absolutely. Absolutely,” Crosby said. “People talk about Davante Adams, I’ve heard he can play pretty well. Besides him, I don’t think anybody could beat me.”

Crosby’s favorite player growing up was Dwayne Wade, and he often shows support on his social media for the Los Angeles Clippers, especially his good friend James Harden

But more than anything, Crosby just seems like a fan of basketball itself. Which, is understandable given that he can hoop a little himself.

Ashton Jeanty Also Showed Up for Summer League

Maxx Crosby isn’t the only Raider who has taken in a Dallas Mavericks game this Summer.

Raiders rookie running back phenom Ashton Jeanty was present for Cooper Flagg’s much-hyped Summer League debut against Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers back on Thursday July 10, 2025.

Jeanty even took part in a ceremonial pregame tip-off, similar to a ceremonial first pitch in baseball or puck drop in hockey. The Las Vegas crowd loved to get a glimpse of their newest star a few months before he makes his NFL debut.

Unlike Crosby, the Mavericks treated Jeanty to a win. They eked out an 87-85 win over Los Angeles.

Flagg scored 10 points but struggled shooting the ball, making only 5 of his 21 shots from the field.

But Flagg did much better in his second game. He poured in 31 points against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday July 12, 2025. At that point, the Mavericks decided they’d seen enough and shut Flagg down for the rest of Summer League, which is the reason why Crosby wasn’t able to see him play.

Raiders fans, did any of you see a Raiders player at a Summer League game? If you did, who would you want to run into?
