LeBron James Helped Get Jets’ Sauce Gardner & Ice Spice Together

New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner is in a relationship with megastar rapper and songwriter Ice Spice. Who does he have to thank for that?

Apparently, NBA superstar LeBron James.

“I think we met at ‘The Shop’, the interview we did with LeBron and Trav [Travis Scott]. That was definitely when we first seen each other in person,” Gardner revealed to TMZ Sports during an in-person interview out in Los Angeles about Ice Spice.

“The Shop” is a talk show featuring LeBron James where he and other guests have conversations and debates about an array of topics. Gardner appeared in an episode that aired in April of 2024, according to TMZ.

That particular episode included appearances by Gardner, Chad Johnson, Ice Spice, Travis Scott, and ‘The King’ himself, LeBron James.

Gardner Provides the 4-1-1 on His Relationship With Ice Spice

Gardner and Ice Spent went “Instagram official” in April of 2025.

TMZ Sports said Ice Spice and Gardner teased for “months” that they were in a relationship, “leading up to the hard launch.”

“We cool,” Gardner responded when asked by TMZ Sports how things are going between he and Ice Spice. “It is still the same for real, ya know. I ain’t trying to speak too much on it, you know what I’m saying? We cool though.”

Gardner, 24, is entering his fourth professional season in the NFL, all with the Jets. Ice Spice, real name Isis Gaston, is 25 years old.

“We just be having a good time. Two young individuals, she is from New York, I play in New York, she is talented, real talented when it comes to what she do. Same thing for me. Two people that get hated on that is really good at what we do. We got a lot in common, ya know, we cool,” Gardner told TMZ Sports.

Gardner Is Going to Get a Bag Sooner Rather Than Later

NFL Insider Matt Lombardo told me on “Boy Green Daily” that Gardner might not become the highest-paid corner in football, but he could receive the most guaranteed money of any CB.

Derek Stingley of the Houston Texans became the highest-paid corner in the NFL this offseason. He inked a three-year $90 million deal, which is the highest per-year average ($30 million) among corners, per Over The Cap.

In addition to becoming the top-paid guy, Stingley also received the most fully guaranteed money of any corner ($48 million).

Lombardo told me Gardner has a chance to top Stingley in these negotiations with the Jets.

ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler told Connor Long on “The Jake Asman Show” that the Jets had already submitted an initial offer. Since then, the sides have continued to talk.

Gardner asked openly on social media why pass rushers and wide receivers make more money than corners.

One of the best corners in NFL history responded to his tweet, Deion Sanders.

“Because the Dog corners need stand up for themselves and what they bring to the table or sit down and watch what’s happening happen! Yall need to Stand up Stand out and Believe in what u Possess,” Sanders responded.

Gardner responded with a salute emoji.
