Veteran Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has teased a personal announcement, which he will make later this week.
On Wednesday, the LeBron James Family Foundation revealed via X that James has “something spooktacular” to share on the eve of Halloween. James, whose foundation has released three children’s books, is set to release a new Halloween-themed book.
“What’s up guys? I have all three of my books so far,” James said in a video.
“Here’s a little sneak peek of the new one,” he said, while giving fans a glimpse of the new book. “I can’t show it just yet. You guys stay tuned. It’s gonna be a very spooky one.”
LeBron James Return Timeline Revealed
James, sidelined at the start of a season for the first time in his 23-year career, is on track to make his debut at some point in the second or third week of November.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported Wednesday that Redick is hopeful that “The King” will return to the court imminently.
“JJ Redick says there is no set return date in mind for LeBron James but the team is eyeing the second or third week of November as the general range,” McMenamin wrote on X.
Redick’s comments line up with ESPN’s Shams Charania’s reporting. Charania told the “Pat McAfee Show” last week that James has no intention to rush back from his sciatica.
“Sources tell me he’s going to be very, very patient with this injury. I’m told the Lakers and LeBron are looking at mid-Novemberish for him to make his debut.”
LeBron James Shouts Out Austin Reaves
Despite being sidelined, James has been very active on social media, praising Austin Reaves for his historic start to the new NBA campaign.
Soon after Reaves made a buzzer-beater to guide the Lakers to a 116-115 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, James had an animated reaction on X.
James was similarly animated when Reaves dropped a career-high 51 points against the Sacramento Kings last Sunday. He even went on to hail Reaves and Luka Doncic as a “sick backcourt” that nearly dropped consecutive 50-point games, referencing Doncic’s 49-point outing against the Timberwolves on October 24.
Reaves’ masterclass on Wednesday helped the Lakers improve to 3-2 despite dealing with a plethora of injuries. Besides James and Doncic, the Lakers were without Marcus Smart and Gabe Vincent, yet pulled off a huge win, courtesy of Reaves’ solo heroics.
The 27-year-old Reaves said he embraced the pressure of being the lead dog on the Lakers, and did not fear taking the last shot with all the marbles on the line.
“Everybody is looking at me, and in those situations, you have to be calm, be confident and lead your guys through [it],” Reaves said, via ESPN. “We were up [by] 10 [points] or so late, and they went on a run. … It’s hard to not kind of crumble in those situations. But you got to keep energy high, you got to keep the spirit high.”
“That one felt good,” Reaves added.
