Madison Beer, Justin Herbert’s Rumored Girlfriend: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

As Los Angeles Chargers sixth-year quarterback Justin Herbert heads into the season looking to lead the franchise to its second straight playoff season and perhaps, second Super Bowl bid in the Chargers’ 66-year history, off the field he has been looking elsewhere.

According to media reports, the 27-year-old Herbert appears to have sparked a dating relationship with 26-year-old pop star Madison Beer.

As Heavy.com scribe Dylan Grausz wrote this week, “on Sunday, Aug. 17, photos emerged of Herbert hanging out with Beer on the set of her video shoot in Los Angeles. In the picture, both of them were all smiles as Herbert donned a black baseball cap and had his arms crossed, while it appeared that he and Beer were deep in conversation.”

After the initial photos appeared online, sharp-eyed Chargers fans made a new discovery. They spotted Beer in a photo taken at the Chargers’ December 19 Thursday Night Football game at SoFi Stadium, when Herbert lead his team to a 34-27 win over the Denver Broncos.

It seems as if the singer may become a familiar face as the Chargers march through the 2025 season, starting with another Thursday game September 5 at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.

Here’s what you need to know about Justin Herbert’s rumored new gal-pal.

She Was Discovered by a Different Justin

Born on March 5, 1999, in Jericho, New York, Beer was just 13 years old when she began recording versions of popular songs and posting the results to YouTube. One of her videos, a cover version of the classic song “At Last,” made famous by blues singer Etta James, caught the notice of one of the biggest pop stars in the world at the time — Justin Bieber.

Bieber included a link to the video in one of his own social media posts, and her career was launched immediately. Bieber then facilitated her signing her first recording contract, with Island Records. She has since signed with Epic records.

Beer is a Multi-Millionaire

While music occupies the primary role in her career, Beer has also branched out into acting, business — with her own line of cosmetics — and even real estate investment. Since that Bieber tweet in 2012, Beer has reportedly amassed a personal net worth of $18 million, according to a report by Cosmopolitan.

She Has More Than 12.5 Million Spotify Listeners Monthly

For most of the history of the music industry, an artist’s success was measured in record sales, or CD and cassette sales. But in the 2020s, success in popular music is judged largely by the quantity of online listeners and streams. In that category, Beer has some impressive statistics.

On the most prominent music streaming platform, Spotify, Beer boasts 12.6 million “monthly listeners,” according to numbers posted by the app.

Her most popular song on the app, the 2021 single “Reckless,” has been streamed 660.7 million times on Spotify alone, and the video for the track has been viewed 110 million times on YouTube.

She Dedicated Her Autobiography to Her Parents

In 2023, Beer — despite then being only 24 years old — published an autobiography, the book The Half of It in which she explores her rise to fame, as well as her mental health journey.

She dedicated the book to her parents, Robert and Tracie Beer. Her father is a house-builder specializing in constructing luxury homes. Her mother is an interior designer. The couple divorced in 2006, but have maintained a good relationship, which Beer has called “very fortunate.”

Beer Identifies as Bisexual

The pop star has spoken openly about her bisexuality, saying in an interview earlier this year, “I’m like: ‘Yeah, I don’t really know why you give a **** that I want to date a girl.’ I’ve never understood homophobic people because I’m just like, ‘Why are you affected by someone else’s sexual preference?’”

She added that she feels an obligation to speak out about her sexual identity because, “I know how much the gay community has been through.”

Her own grandfather, she has said, was gay, but was never able to come out of the closet.

“It makes me so upset that we live in this world where you can’t just be who you are,” she said in the interview.
