Manchester United are still working on a deal to sign Louis Page from Leicester City ahead of Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
United’s summer business has focused on a midfield rebuild with Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba joining the club for an outlay of just over £150million.
Page is also a target for the club with United eager to land the highly-rated Foxes star who has also attracted interest from Arsenal this summer.
United have been in pole position to sign the 18-year-old and have been working on a deal to bring him to Old Trafford since early August.

With just hours left before the summer transfer window closes, United are still working on the deal with the fee still being discussed with Leicester.
Sky Sports report United will have to offer more than £8million to meet Leicester’s demands with other clubs also circling.
An arrangement where Page is loaned back to Leicester for the season has also been discussed but the report claims such a deal would be more complicated and take longer to complete.
The Independent claim however United are expected to make swift progress in the coming hours and get the deal done.
United want a deal wrapped up today but there is also the added complication of Leicester being in League One action against Plymouth tonight – a game Page is expected to be involved in.
The England Under-20 international was named the EFL Apprentice of the Year last season and is regarded as one of the brightest talents playing outside the English top flight.
Elsewhere on deadline day, United are still interested in signing a left-back. Lewis Hall emerged as their top target but the Newcastle United star will be staying on Tyneside this season with United planning to make their move next summer.
A temporary option is being sought for this season with Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde considered.
Jorge Salinas of Racing Santander has also been a target but United are running out of time to make an addition.
