Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga has held talks with both Manchester United and Liverpool as the battle for his signature heats up ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Europe this season and is already a first-team starter at Celta.
As well as his impressive displays, it’s the inclusion of a £40m release clause in Veiga’s contract that has attracted interest from Europe’s elite.
The midfielder is available for a fraction of his potential worth and that’s seen Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid position themselves for his signature.
However, Veiga is open to leaving his homeland and AS say his representatives have held talks with both United and Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate to strengthen Liverpool’s midfield and they’ve pulled out of the race to sign Dortmund ace Jude Bellingham.
Erik ten Hag is similarly keen to make midfield reinforcements, with Fred a possible departure this summer.
Madrid are keen on signing Bellingham and will battle Manchester City for his signature, while Barcelona are keen on re-signing Lionel Messi.
That could open the door for Veiga to move to England and neither United nor Liverpool would have any problem meeting his release clause.
