Manchester United will look to offload Andre Onana at the end of the season, according to reports.

Onana joined United in a £47.2 million deal from Inter in 2023 but several high-profile mistakes saw the Cameroon international lose his place as Ruben Amorim’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The 29-year-old was left out of United’s opening three Premier League games before being allowed to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan for the rest of the campaign.

United also signed Senne Lammens for an initial £18.1m from Belgian side Royal Antwerp on the final day of the summer transfer window and the 23-year-old has impressed in his first five appearances for Amorim’s side.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United did not include a purchase option in their loan deal with Trabzonspor, which means Onana is set to return to Old Trafford next summer.

However, it is claimed that United have already decided to keep Lammens as their first-choice goalkeeper beyond this season and the club will look to move Onana on once again.

‘In this case, compared to Hojland and Rashford there is no buy option clause included in the deal,’ Romano said on his YouTube channel.

‘Onana will officially return to United at the beginning of the summer transfer window 2026, but my understanding is United are super with Senne Lammens.

‘In this moment I don’t think Onana will be part of Manchester United’s plans. Probably the idea would be to part ways, to find a solution for Onana, to explore the market.’

Onana will have two years remaining on his contract with United next summer.
