West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes has made Manchester United his priority destination in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Fernandes is expected to leave West Ham this summer with the club planning a £150 million fire sale following their relegation from the Premier League last weekend.
The 21-year-old has impressed for West Ham this season after his move from Southampton last summer in a deal worth £38m plus £4m in add-ons.
Fernandes has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe including United, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

But according to the i Paper, Fernandes has made United his ‘first pick’ for the summer window.
The report adds that United view Fernandes ‘as the perfect foil’ for their captain Bruno Fernandes and a move for the West Ham midfielder will be made ‘in the coming weeks’.
Earlier this month, reports claimed that Bruno Fernandes had also recommended the signing of his compatriot to United’s hierarchy.
West Ham are understood to be seeking an £80m fee for Fernandes, who still has four years left on his contract.
United, meanwhile, have also held talks with Atalanta over a deal for their Brazilian midfielder Ederson.
Reports in Italy last week had claimed that United had agreed an initial a €53 million (£45.8m) deal with Atalanta.
