Maxx Crosby’s Music Career: What You Need to Know Ahead of His EP Release

Maxx Crosby is an EDGE rusher for the Las Vegas Raiders.

When he’s not on the gridiron, one of Crosby’s favorite hobbies is making rap music.

Here is everything you need to know about Maxx Crosby’s music career.

1. Crosby Won Best Musician in High School

Maxx Crosby was a football star at Colleyville Heritage High in Colleyville, Texas during his high school years.

Since he was such a promising football prospect, Crosby tried his best to stay out of trouble. He still partied here and there, but the main hobby he used as an outlet to keep himself on the right path was rap music.

Crosby dropped two rap mixtapes in high school with his best friend Nick Felix, who played on the football team with him.

Those mixtapes were a hot commodity at Colleyville Heritage High.

“We dropped 23 songs, I swear to God you drive in the parking lot and you’d hear our s— playing bro,” Crosby told TJ Leota on the Samoan Raider YouTube channel. “It went crazy, everyone had a disc and teachers were getting ahold of it!”

“We didn’t really expect it but we were literally burning CDs and handing it out and people loved it.”

Crosby and Felix dropped their second mixtape on SoundCloud and some of their songs quickly got over 100,000 plays.

It all led to one of the proudest moments of Crosby’s life.

“My biggest flex is that I won ‘Best Musician’ my senior year in high school,” Crosby said. “When I got that, I’m like, I f—— did it. I don’t care about football none of that. Best musician, no one can take that away from me.”

2. Crosby Has Three Main Favorite Rappers

In high school, Crosby told Samoan Raider that he and Felix listened to a lot of Chief Keef and Migos in Felix’s car on the way to school.

Crosby has also said that he views Future as the greatest rapper of all time in an interview he did  with Complex

“I’m playing Future 98% of the time,” Crosby said. “I’m deada–-. I will listen to Future, every album, this dude hasn’t missed in years.”

3. Post Malone Helped Crosby Make Music

Austin Richard Post, now known professionally as Post Malone, went to Grapevine High School, which was the rival high school of Colleyville Heritage High, which Crosby attended.

The two schools are just 15 minutes away from each other, so Crosby and Post knew one another through mutual friends and listened to each others’ music.

Crosby still has some copies of Post’s high school mixtapes, which he describes as “hard core rap”.

And Post even helped Crosby with some of his own mixtapes by making beats for Crosby and Felix.

“On the second mixtape we dropped, Post made like four of the beats on that mixtape,” Crosby said on Samoan Raider.

4. Crosby Was Featured On Darren Waller’s Album

Tight End Darren Waller was Maxx Crosby’s teammate on the Raiders from 2019-2022.

Waller loves to make rap music just like Crosby, and has released it throughout his football career. As of July 2025, Waller has over 34,000 monthly listeners on Spotify

Back on September 14, 2021, Waller released an album called Delusions of Clarity. The very last track on that album is called “Gotta Go” and features someone called “Maxx”.

That, of course, is the rap stage name of Maxx Crosby.

5. Crosby is Releasing a New EP Soon

On the evening of Monday July 14, 2025, Crosby announced that he was releasing a new EP in a post on X.

Not much is known about the EP. All that Crosby said is that it is done and will be released before the season.

The rumored title of the EP is “PRESSURE”, which Crosby put in his tweet without any further explanation.

Raiders fans eagerly await any further details on Crosby’s latest musical venture, because they can’t wait to listen to music from their franchise player.
