Micah Parsons Vows 1 Thing to Packers Fans After Season-Ending Injury News

The Green Bay Packers’ worst fears were confirmed on Monday morning when MRI results showed that star edge-rusher Micah Parsons had, in fact, torn his ACL.

The 26-year-old defensive end suffered the non-contact injury in Sunday’s 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos. Video replays showed Parsons’ knee buckling as he was pursuing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

The news ends a promising first season for Parsons in Green Bay following an offseason trade from the Dallas Cowboys that cost the Packers two first-round picks plus Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

In 14 games this season, Parsons racked up 79 pressures, 51 hurries, 14 QB hits, 12.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 41 total tackles, and 2 forced fumbles, with a 22.5% pass-rush win-rate, per Pro Football Focus.

The former first-round pick led the Packers in nearly every major statistical category except total tackles.

Parsons’ Message to Packers Fans

After news broke about his MRI results, Parsons quickly took to social media to send a heartfelt message to Packers fans while also making them a promise for next season.

“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated,” Parsons wrote on X. “This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony. I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it.

“I’m deeply grateful to the Packers organization and my teammates for their unwavering support, love, and belief in me during this season. I trust His timing, His plan, and His purpose. I will rise again.”

Through the first 14 games of the season, Parsons was tied for third in sacks and ranked sixth ins ack yardage (83), and he ranked third in pressures and hurries, and seventh in QB hits among all defensive ends.

Green Bay ranked sixth in total defense, eighth against the pass and the run, and allowed the eighth-fewest points per game (20.1) with Parsons. Now defensive coordinator Jeff Halfey will have to prove his scheme can hold up without a superstar pass-rusher.

Ex-Cowboys Teammates Show Parsons Some Love

Though Parsons now plays for an NFC rival, that doesn’t mean his former Dallas Cowboys teammates weren’t torn up after hearing the news late Sunday night.

And if anyone can relate to what Parsons is going through, it’s Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs, who suffered an ACL injury of his own back in 2023.

“I was devastated,” Diggs said of Parsons’ injury, via CBS Sports. “As soon as I saw it happen, I texted him and made sure he was good. That’s my Day 1, my brother. I’ve been through it [a torn ACL], so I know how he’s feeling right now. I just want him to keep him in y’all’s prayers, make sure he’s prayed up. I’m going to make sure I’m there for him every step of the way, make sure he’s good.”

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott also had a somber reaction to learning the news.

“Honestly, I shot him a message before the game and told him to keep his head up,” Prescott told reporters. “Tough game. Tough business. He responded with a great message, a great attitude about it, and he’ll attack his rehab.”
