Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Exits Game With Injury

For most games this season, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed as probable due to a knee injury. He has missed a few games with that injury, but most of it has been to prevent any soreness from getting worse.

Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the league when he is fully healthy. In fact, he is the second-leading scorer in the league, averaging over 32 points per game. With him on the roster, the Bucks believe they can compete for an NBA championship.

Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo left a game against the Cavaliers with an injury and did not return.

Bucks Forward Giannis Antetokounmpo Leaves Game With Groin Strain

Antetokounmpo left the game against Cleveland in the second quarter and went back to the locker room. After that, he was subsequently ruled out with a left groin strain. This is the first game this season that he has left due to injury.

It is unclear how significant a strain it is. The team will likely give him an MRI after the game to determine how much time he will miss, if at all. Without Antetokounmpo in the lineup, things become much harder for the Bucks. He is their best offensive and defensive player.

So far this season, Antetokounmpo has missed two games. He missed both of those games with that knee soreness that he has been listed with all season long. Without Antetokounmpo available, Myles Turner will have to take more of the load in the frontcourt.

The Bucks Don’t Fair Well With Antetokounmpo Off The Court

As expected, the Bucks struggle when Antetokounmpo is off the court. Antetokounmpo has a 9.9 net rating. With him off the court, the Bucks score just 110 points per game. On the season, they average 118, showing how much they need him out there.

Heading into that game against Cleveland, the Bucks were seventh in the Eastern Conference Standings. If they have to play any significant time without Antetokounmpo, they could end up dropping even further in those standings.

Antetokounmpo is one of the favorites to win MVP if he is able to play at least 65 games to qualify for the award. The Bucks need him if they are going to make a deep run in the playoffs.
