NBA Fans React to Warriors’ Major Steph Curry News

All signs are pointing to the Golden State Warriors getting their former MVP, Steph Curry, back in the mix before the NBA Play-In Tournament.

When the Warriors face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, April 1, Curry is guaranteed to be sidelined still.

The Thursday matchup at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers seems to be out of the question for the superstar sharpshooter as well.

As for Sunday’s action against the Houston Rockets? That’s suddenly a target date for Curry’s potential return to action.

A report from The Athletic stated that Curry is “targeting” the April 5 game.

Here’s what NBA fans are saying on Reddit:

“No matter what, I look forward to seeing him,” said Emma01311.

“Ole righteous back in action,” cuseonly stated.

“Am I alone on this or is anyone else as excited for this end of season run? Like, we know $100+ million is always sidelined for the team, but anytime Steph is on the court when the lights are brightest, the warriors have a shot. Low expectations could be really good for this team. Watch the ball moves, hands are active on defense, and they let the other team make mistakes by playing their individual roles perfectly. Anything can happen. So hyped Steph will lace em up again this season!” n0-ragrets commented.

“Let’s hope he plays like 20 minutes, scores a 30 on the for a W,” Guilty_View3830 said.

“Hopefully on a minute restriction until the play in,” new_low1942 adds.

The Warriors haven’t had Curry on the court since their January 30 matchup against the Detroit Pistons.

At the time, Curry checked out after 25 minutes of action. He was diagnosed with runner’s knee and has made it to a week-to-week basis. By missing Wednesday’s action, Curry will have 26 absences in a row.

Before going down, Curry appeared in 39 games for the Warriors. He produced 27.2 points per game, while shooting 39.1% from three. Along with his scoring, Curry has produced 4.8 assists per game, along with 3.5 rebounds per game.

On Tuesday, Curry went through his first full practice in two months. He participated in a five-on-five scrimmage for the first time throughout his recovery.

The Warriors are 36-39 on the year, placing 10th in the Western Conference. After the Spurs, Cavaliers, and Rockets games, the Warriors have just four matchups yet before their inevitable Play-In run.

While Curry’s status for the remainder of the year seemed to be in danger, all signs are pointing to him getting a chance to suit up again this year.
