On Thursday, December 11th, Raising the Flag, a docuseries commemorating 50 years of the Bucs franchise will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
The 10-part docuseries will focus on the rise of the Bucs franchise as they built from the ground up, going 0-26 in their first two season to lifting two Super Bowl trophies in the span of two years in the ’90s. One specific April night in 1995 is expected to feature heavily.
On that night, general manager Rich Mckay swung two massive trades in the draft, allowing him to select Warren Sapp with the 12th overall pick and Derrick Brooks with the 28th. The docuseries will look to hone in on those stories and more.
Behind the Draft Decisions That Rewrote the Franchise
Directed by Emmy-Award winning cinematographer and filmmaker Trent Cooper, it encompasses 100 odd interviews with players, coaching staff, executives and media personalities with equal amounts of archival footage as well.
“Raise The Flags is a celebration of the people, the perseverance, and the passion that built this franchise over the past 50 seasons,” Glazer said of the project. “We wanted to create an honest and comprehensive look at our journey – from the earliest challenges to the unforgettable championship moments – and to honor everyone who has shaped the Buccaneers franchise into what it is today. This series celebrates that rich history in a way that has never been done before.”
