NFL Announces Punishment for Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey After Ejection

During the AFC North division showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, things got pretty chippy between stars Jalen Ramsey and Ja’Marr Chase.

The two veterans got into a scuffle during the game, with Ramsey throwing a punch at Chase, which resulted in the three-time All-Pro defensive back being ejected from the game.

Initially, it looked like Ramsey simply lost his cool and let his emotions get the best of him on the field while confronting one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. However, Chase instigated the physical confrontation by spitting on Ramsey.

On Saturday, ahead of Week 12’s clash on the road at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears, the NFL officially announced the punishment for Ramsey’s fight with Chase.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Ramsey has been fined $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Chase, however, didn’t get penalized during the game but was ultimately suspended for Week 12 for his actions after the league reviewed what actually happened on the field.

Unfortunately, Chase didn’t get penalized during the game. Still, now he’s paying for it, with his suspension set to keep him sidelined for the Bengals’ matchup against the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.

The Bengals losing Chase for a game couldn’t come at a worse time, as they need to win as many games as possible for the rest of the season for any hope of being playoff-bound, which is looking less and less likely, even with superstar Joe Burrow nearing his return to the field.

As for Ramsey, the one-time Super Bowl champion will be good to go to take on Caleb Williams and the Bears in the Windy City on Sunday in what will be an important game for the Steelers, with the Baltimore Ravens on their heels in the AFC North division standings.

Steelers Trying to Hold Off Ravens in AFC North Title Race

At one point during the 2025 NFL season, the Steelers appeared poised to win the AFC North division title with ease, with a rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers leading the way for the storied franchise.

One of the main reasons the Steelers sit atop the division standings is due to the Ravens getting off to a rough start and Lamar Jackson suffering a hamstring injury, which resulted in him missing several games.

However, with a healthy Jackson back under center, the Ravens have won four straight games and face a relatively easy schedule over the next few games, starting with the New York Jets in Week 12.

With the Ravens having a chance to gain some ground over the next few weeks, the pressure will be on the Steelers moving forward, as there’s no margin for error for Rodgers and company if they want to win the division title and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs.
