Three Miami Dolphins players were fined by the NFL for incidents during their Week 14 game against the New York Jets, the league announced Saturday.
Running back DeâVon Achane was fined $8,238 for unsportsmanlike conduct stemming from a violent gesture with 8:54 left in the first quarter, while wide receiver Jaylen Wright received a $6,388 fine for a similar violation at the same time. Both players performed the âslimeâ or ânose wipeâ gesture shortly after Achane rushed for a 13-yard touchdown.
The league updated its list of unsportsmanlike conduct acts in March 2025 to include several gestures, adding to previously banned actions such as throat slashes, simulated firing or brandishing of a gun, the ânose wipe,â and sexually suggestive gestures.
Safety Ashtyn Davis received the largest fine, $13,611, for unnecessary roughness after delivering a hit on a defenseless player with 2:24 remaining in the fourth quarter.
