A.J. Greer is another name that should generate interest. His 11 goals in 61 games may not jump off the page, but it should given his role with the club this season. He’s produced in a bottom-six role, providing energy and timely scoring. As an impending UFA, Greer offers a clean rental option for teams looking to strengthen their depth without long-term commitment at the NHL trade deadline.
The Panthers could get a couple of draft picks and a decent prospect if they move both Rodrigues and Greer before Friday’s deadline.
Goaltending Looms as the Biggest Deadline Question
Then there’s the most complicated situation of all: Sergei Bobrovsky.
There has been some chatter involving Bobrovsky this season. He’s an impending UFA and talk suggests there is no deal in place to extend the veteran netminder.
