Alan Shearer has blasted Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis after the brutal sacking of Ange Postecoglou on Saturday.
Ex-Tottenham boss Postecoglou lost his job as Forest head coach just 18 minutes after the 3-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea this weekend.
The Australian was in charge of Forest for just 39 days, in what has become one of the shortest reigns in Premier League history.
Less than three hours after Postecoglou’s sacking, Forest have made formally approached Roberto Mancini to become their next manager.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Mancini hasn’t given any indication on his plans yet as talks have only just started.

Former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche is said to be another candidate on Forest’s shortlist to replace Postecoglou.
Shearer tells Marinakis to ‘take responsibility’
Speaking after Postecoglou lost his job, Premier League legend Shearer told the BBC: ‘Ultimately the results haven’t been good enough and that is on Ange. But the owner has to take some responsibility too.
‘He chose Ange, it was his appointment. How can you go from a manager in Nuno [Espirito Santo] with one style of play to someone like Ange who everyone knows wants his teams to play in a completely different way?’
Richards: Marinakis has high expectations
Fellow football pundit Micah Richards, meanwhile, added: ‘If you’re not getting points, then the owner is going to make a decision.
‘The difference is going from a defensive side who are great on the counter-attack to a manager who wants to play more extensively – that’s going to take time.
‘The owner has high expectations. That’s probably what got them to Europe in the first place. At this moment in time, they need calmness and stability.’
Pat Nevin has told Marinakis to ‘look at himself’ while Glenn Hoddle was left ‘surprised’ over how quick the decision was announced.
‘A wild shambles,’ Nevin opined. ‘If you are the owner and you choose the managers, you need to look at yourself sometimes.
‘I do think eight games, even though it’s been bad, that isn’t enough to see if you are good enough.’
Hoddle, speaking on TNT Sports, said: ‘[For Marinakis] to leave his seat after 60 minutes [against Chelsea] was a statement in itself. I’m surprised he has done it so quickly after the game.
‘Eight games they’ve not gone well, but after eight matches as a manager, it’s no time at all. Surely he has got to be given more time than that.’
