One Giants Predicition Would Spell Doom for Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are both on the hot seat entering 2025 after a disastrous 3-14 season.

Well, one prediction about the Giants entering the NFL season would all but seal the fate of this duo in 2025.

Giants Predicted to Finish Last in NFC East for 2025 NFL Season

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report predicted the team that will finish last place in their division for the 2025 NFL season on Monday.

Despite the team signing QB Russell Wilson this offseason, Moton’s prediction for the New York Giants for this season would certainly spell doom for both Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen entering a make-or-break year.

Moton wrote, “The New York Giants significantly upgraded at quarterback with the addition of Russell Wilson. He’s not a franchise savior, though. Over the last two years, the 10-time Pro Bowler has been an efficient passer, throwing for 42 touchdowns and 13 interceptions with a 65 percent completion rate. Entering his age-37 campaign, he’s a mediocre quarterback with great touch and accuracy on deep balls but lacks the upside to push an offense over the top with spectacular plays in critical moments.”

Wilson hasn’t exactly played like a player who looks completely washed over the last two years, but when looking at the other quarterbacks and offenses entering this upcoming season, it is fair to wonder if the Giants will be able to score with the other teams in their division.

Moton added, “However, one has to question if the Giants can outduel opponents in their division. Their rivals have dynamic quarterbacks (Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels) or a signal-caller who has posted gaudy passing numbers in multiple seasons (Dak Prescott).”

The wild card for the Giants entering the season is the potential impact of rookie QB Jaxson Dart, who could alter the fate of this grim outlook if he outperforms the low expectations many have for the Ole Miss product in 2025.

Once upon a time, Daboll got the most out of QB Daniel Jones when the organization surprised many NFL fans by winning a playoff game back in 2022. It is possible he can accelerate Dart’s development, but that feels like a longshot in 2025.

Can Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen Survive the 2025 NFL Season

What kind of season would the Giants need to have in 2025 for Daboll and Schoen to keep their jobs for next season?

Moton did include some optimism in his prediction writing, “Big Blue will be more competitive than last year because of Wilson, though. He has a decent collection of playmakers with Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson at receiver. Running backs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. can be a thunder-lightning type backfield duo.”

Perhaps, optimism and growth on the offensive side of the ball with a rookie quarterback would be enough to buy this duo another season, but it is hard to imagine a scenario where the Giants’ fan base will tolerate another 3-14 type season.

If the Giants’ defense becomes an elite group with players like Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter in 2025, it is possible this team can compete for a wild card spot.

Yet, if the Giants don’t at least double their win total from last year, then this could be the final season Daboll and Schoen in New York.
