Packers Trade Proposal Hauls In Them Pro Bowl Replacement For Micah Parsons

The Green Bay Packers are down a very key player in Micah Parsons, who will miss the rest of the 2025 season – and indeed likely parts of 2026 – after tearing his ACL in the loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 16.

Without Parsons, the Packers still have multiple options behind fellow starting edge rusher, Rashan Gary, in the form of fellow ex-1st round pick, Lukas Van Ness, and fourth year defensive end, JJ Enagbare.

But given the importance of the position to Green Bay in their scheme under defensive coordinator, Jeff Hafley, it could certainly make sense for the team to look at adding another veteran face to the mix to blend in with the youth.

Fortunately for the Packers, one such option may bave just entered the open market in the form of four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher, Matt Judon.

Judon was previously with the Miami Dolphins, but Mike Garafolo reported on Wednesday that the team parted ways with him after their fate-sealing Week 15 loss to the Steelers on Monday night.

Why Would The Packers Make A Move For Matt Judon?

On the face of it, the acquisition of Matt Judon for the next few games doesn’t necessarily make a ton of sense. Judon was having arguably his worst season as a pro – despite continuing to play the majority of snaps on defense in Dolphins games over the past month or so – managing just a 43.3 grade from Pro Football Focus.

On the other hand, the Packers need a veteran presence in the locker room, beyond what the former Raven brings in on-the-field production. Judon has five playoff appearances over the course of his decade-long career, and adds credence and leadership to a position group that now has a huge production and emotional hole in edge rusher.
