Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has been mostly silent regarding his breakup with ex-girlfriend Hanna Cavinder. Days before Miami took on Florida State, new details emerged indicating that things may not have ended on the best of terms between Beck and Cavinder.
It once appeared that Beck’s then-girlfriend played a role in the quarterback’s decision to transfer from Georgia to Miami. Cavinder played college basketball for the Hurricanes, and the couple posted a video throwing up the school’s signature “U” after the star announced his decision to transfer.

Carson Beck Has Not Spoken With Ex-Girlfriend Hanna Cavinder Since April: Report
ESPN’s Andrea Adelson reported that Beck and Cavinder have not spoken since the couple broke up in April. The split came as Beck was recovering from a season-ending shoulder injury and months after transferring from Georgia to Miami.
“His arm felt dead as he adjusted to not only throwing again, but the way his elbow felt,” Adelson wrote in an October 1, 2025, story titled, “At Miami, Carson Beck isn’t ‘trying to be Superman’ anymore.” “Within two weeks, he felt normal — and knew he would be ready for the start of fall camp in August.
“But while he was working his way back, Beck was in the news again. Shortly after moving to Miami, he had his Lamborghini and a Mercedes stolen from the home he was sharing with Cavinder. The cars were not recovered. Then in April, Cavinder posted on social media that the two had broken up. They have not spoken since.”

During the ESPN feature interview, Beck finally addressed the breakup after months of silence. During an interview with Kai Trump, Cavinder revealed why the couple broke up.
“He has an ego,” Cavinder said in the viral video back in April, per Fox News. “He wanted people to stop and take a picture.
“He would, like, flip off people at the bar, and I’d be embarrassed. So I broke up with him, and all this cheating (expletive) came out. I had no idea,” Cavinder continued.
“I didn’t break up with him because he cheated. I broke up with him because of who he was.”

In Beck’s first words on the split, the star quarterback emphasized that things playing out publicly was less than ideal. Beck admitted that the season of life was particularly challenging.
“You make mistakes as a person, but it sucks that you have to go through something like that with someone that you care about, and now it’s all over the internet,” Beck told ESPN. “Half of what you see in the media is true. Half of what you see is not true.
“So, people pick their side of the story and run with it. The people that know the truth know the truth. But it’s been difficult.”
