The Philadelphia Phillies are set for a very important offseason following the close of the 2025 campaign. Philadelphia is coming off a 96-win season, which saw them win the National League East, but they have several glaring question marks to address in the coming months.
Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski recently compounded a potentially busy offseason by essentially calling out superstar Bryce Harper. The outfielder followed by claiming that he was “uncomfortable” hearing the critical remarks from the exec. Dombrowski has since attempted to smooth things over with Harper by telling media members at the GM meetings that the two “had a nice conversation.”
It remains to be seen if the two sides can manage to put aside their differences. Nevertheless, potential trade conversations regarding Harper would not exactly be surprising.
Harper, however, may not be the only star player to soon leave Philly. MLB Network’s Jon Morosi is claiming that the team could be set to engage in trade talks involving All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm. Bohm has been a mainstay in Philadelphia’s lineup since breaking through as a rookie in 2020.
Philadelphia Phillies Exec Coy on Alec Bohm’s Future with Team

During a November 12 appearance on the MLB Network, Morosi claimed that the Phillies are prioritizing their current free agents. This list is notably led by stars Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto. Outside of these major deals, and possibly the Harper situation, Morosi reported that Bohm could soon be traded away.
“One trade they could make is Alec Bohm at third base,” claimed Morosi. “He is someone who has shown you All-Star level production, but the consistency has not always been there. And I asked Dave Dombrowski yesterday about how much interest there has been in Alec Bohm and the potential of a move there.”
MLB Network video then showed Dombrowski avoiding the question regarding Bohm. The exec initially said that he did not want to “get into any individual players,” but ultimately praised the 29-year-old infielder.
Alex Bregman has Been Heavily Linked with Move to Philly
Potentially trading away Bohm would leave a sizable hole in Philadelphia’s lineup. Although 2025 was mostly seen as a down year for Bohm, as he missed over 40 games, the slugger still ranked fourth on the team in hits and sixth in RBIs.
Morosi continued on the show by linking Alex Bregman to fill Bohm’s potential void. The free agent third baseman has plenty of suitors after recently opting out of his contract with the Boston Red Sox. Philadelphia is, however, widely seen as a top landing spot for Bregman. In fact, ESPN’s Jeff Pasan believes the star would be perfect for the Phillies.
“If the Phillies were to move Bohm, in my judgment, it would have to be because they think there’s a chance of getting a Bregman, or they’re one of the teams that could potentially look at Bo Bichette at a spot that’s not shortstop,” resumed Morosi. “You would have to have a clear upgrade on Bohm if you’re gonna go ahead and make that trade.”
Bregman’s upcoming decision will likely start a domino effect in the free agent market. Not only could his future potentially affect Bohm, but the Red Sox will also have to look to plan B. Boston is believed to be interested in St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado if Bregman is off the board.
