A Premier League club have made an opening offer for a £43million-rated Manchester United and Liverpool target, according to reports.
Both United and Liverpool are in the market for central midfield reinforcements this summer, but time is running out with the new season kicking-off in less than two weeks.
Michael Carrick has already brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans but would like to add one more given the departure of Casemiro and the lengthy injury to Manuel Ugarte.
Likewise, new Reds boss Andoni Iraola wants to bolster his options in the middle of the park, especially with Curtis Jones expected to depart Anfield this transfer window.

Many names have been linked with both clubs, but one that has largely flown under the radar is Monaco’s Lamine Camara.
The 22-year-old recorded three goals and four assists in 24 Ligue 1 appearances last season, and was part of Senegal’s World Cup squad and helped his nation reach the Africa Cup of Nations final this year.
Both the Red Devils and the Reds have been monitoring Camara for months and Sky Sports report that Crystal Palace are also interested and have enquired about how much a transfer would cost.
However, French outlet Foot Mercato have now claimed that Palace are the first club to submit a ‘concrete offer’ for the player.
Moreover, Nottingham Forest are also preparing a bid, while United and Liverpool ‘remain in the hunt’ but are biding their time before making any formal approaches.
It is not known how much the Eagles’ offer is worth, though it is said that Monaco will accept nothing less than €50m (£43m) for their star midfielder.
Camara joined Monaco from Metz just two years ago for around £13m and is under contract until 2029.
After a quiet summer so far, Palace have stepped up their transfer plans in recent days, signing ex-Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and plotting a move for Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong.
