A Premier League player was reportedly arrested during training in front of shocked teammates on suspicion of making a sex tape without consent.

The Sun report that two uniformed police officers walked onto the training pitch during a session at an unnamed club.

The player was taken in for questioning by the police and quizzed for six hours, with two phones seized and searched for evidence.

The player was reportedly accused by a woman of secretly filming a sexual encounter despite her asking him not to, leaving her feeling ‘violated and humiliated’.

However, after the lengthy questioning period the unnamed player was released with no further action taken.

A police spokesperson said: ‘A man in his 20s was arrested at an address, on suspicion of voyeurism.

‘It was determined no further action would be taken due to insufficient evidence.’

The player returned to training on Thursday and could play in FA Cup third round action this weekend.

A source told The Sun that his teammates were stunned by the arrest and thought it was a joke.

‘A lot of stars initially thought it was a prank when two uniformed officers strode on to the pitches during training. Everyone was in disbelief,’ said the source.

‘Players were open-mouthed. No one was sure what was going on.’

The club refused to comment when contacted by The Sun.
